Functional and fun artwork and furniture created from reclaimed and recycled materials!
In 2007, Nicole and her Aunt Deb started this adventure at the Chattanooga Market and were originally known for transforming old wooden windows into works of art called “Windows Tables”. In August 2009 their shop “Tangerinas” in the historical Northshore art district in Chattanooga was opened. Their creations now include everything from “Hardware words” to hardware “people” to anything made from the salvaged materials they scavenge.
The “Hardware Words” spell out “Welcome“, “Believe”, “Love”, and a whole lot more. They are created from salvaged materials such as cabinet doors, scrap wood, antique brass drawer pulls, springs, gears, caps, old house keys, or whatever was almost junked, These signs can also be customized and make great gifts for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries or Christmas!
The furniture design, painting and finishing line has grown tremendously since the Tangerinas shop opened four years ago. The store is now stocked with beautiful and fun painted tables, vanities, benches, and chairs! We can either scout out an old piece for you to renovate, or you can bring your old piece to us and we will transform it into functional artwork for your home.
Everything we do is so completely different than anything you’ve seen before. We’re hard to explain and fun to experience. Plan to visit us in our Chattanooga store – or watch to see if we’ll be traveling to an art show in your area!
This aunt and niece duo, Aunt Deb Prater and Nicole Griffin create functional and fun artwork and furniture from reclaimed and recycled materials.
